Domain names are registered on an annual basis. You can keep your domain for as long as you’d like, so long as you continue to renew your domain’s registration.
Just to clarify - domains are NOT purchased and directly or individually owned outright. Domain registration works similar to paying rent on a property or item that you don't technically own, but have the opportunity to utilize, customize or occupy for as long as you've renewed your registration.
For most domain types, you can register a domain up to 10 years in advance. If you continue to renew your domain’s registration, you’ll be able to keep it beyond 10 years; simply renew as you go!
