Often called a Glue record, custom nameservers registration can be done for any domain within your account. Custom nameservers can only be registered with the registrar provider of the domain.
Advanced users who manage their servers externally can register custom nameservers for their domain names. To use your own nameservers, you first need to register the nameserver name with the registry. To register your own Nameservers through our system:
- Log into your account and click on the Domains tab.
- Click on the Manage button to expand your different domain services.
- Click on the Advanced tab
- Click the “Register Custom Nameservers” link and proceed.
- Enter the name for your nameservers (typically something along the lines of ns1.yourdomain.com) and then enter the IP address for the server that you have configured as a nameserver.
- Click on the “Register” button. Your nameserver will be registered through the registry and should be ready for use within a few minutes. You should now be able to assign domain names to your new nameserver(s).
Note: DomainSpot is unable to provide support for DNS configuration for domains using custom nameservers.
